ASHURST HOSPITAL CHILD AND FAMILY HEALTH AND WELLBEING CENTRE: Your opportunity to help us plan for the future

1st October 2020

NHS West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS Property Services are inviting local people across the New Forest and Romsey area to help us with the next phase of planning for a new Child and Family Health and Wellbeing Centre at Ashurst Hospital. We would especially like to hear from local families, children and young people.

Previously we asked people to comment on our vision to provide a Child and Family Health and Wellbeing Centre at Ashurst. We asked parents, carers and children about their experiences of attending appointments at Ashurst and for views on the current buildings. We also asked for ideas on the range of services and the facilities they would like to see on-site in the future.

We listened to the feedback and talked to local health service providers, social care providers and voluntary sector organisations for their ideas too. We are now starting to plan what this new centre might look like and because it will be specifically for children, young people and families, we want your help to get these plans right.

You can help us by completing the electronic surveys to tell us what is important to you and your children when you attend an appointment. How should the building look and feel? What would you like to see inside the building and what things should we consider when landscaping the outside of the building? Your ideas will help us shape the future of this site for for years to come.

Rachael King, Director of Commissioning at West Hampshire CCG said:

“We would like to thank local young people and families for the feedback given to us to date about the range of services they would like to see provided at Ashurst in the future, and their suggestions for what facilities we should include”.

We’ve created two surveys, one for parents, carers and adults, and one for all young people under 21 in the New Forest. Our surveys are open until Sunday 25 October and we’d love it if you could fill them in and support children to complete them too.
