CCG thanks volunteers

28th June 2019

The sun came out for the third annual NHS West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG)’s volunteer’s tea party earlier this week.  Local people who have given up their time to share their experiences of healthcare services in the area met with Chief Officer Heather Hauschild and her team at the CCG to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea at the Point in Eastleigh.

Heather said: “We are very grateful to our volunteers for the time and help they give us. It is very important to us that we hear the experiences of local people so we can plan services that meet their needs.

This tea party is our way of thanking them for all they do for us.”

The event was supported by local businesses who gave raffle prizes and each volunteer was given a thank you card from Heather on behalf of the organisation.

Dorothy Felton, from Winchester, is a member of her GP practice Patient Participation Group and helped the CCG with their Everyone Counts workshop to ensure all services are fair and meet everyone’s needs. She said: “I had a most delightful Afternoon Tea with you all yesterday. Thank you so much for the invitation.”

Jenny Gray, who is a member of the CCG’s Involvement Steering Group and helped to plan their cancer strategy, also thanked Heather for the enjoyable tea party. “It was interesting to meet and talk to others who are also volunteers.  As well as the tea itself of course, which was well received!   Card of thanks also appreciated.”

If you would like to get involved with the work of the CCG and help us plan healthcare services for the future sign up to our Health Involvement Network here or look at the Listening to You section of this website.
