Our AGM 2018
At the Annual General Meeting on Thursday 20 September 2018, NHS West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) showcased how local healthcare services have been developed and improved to meet the needs of local people, and how the healthcare budget of £759m was used in 2017/18.
The CCG’s AGM and public meeting was held at King’s Community Church, Hedge End, SO30 4BZ.
CCG Chief Officer Heather Hauschild said: “This is a great opportunity to help local people understand how the NHS works and how it is changing to meet the needs of local people.
“The NHS has been under particular pressure this year and we will be outlining how we are improving the availability of GP appointments and other consultations.
“Our area has been praised nationally for many local services and we would to share these success stories, such as heart and stroke services, diagnosing cancer early and life expectancy.”
The CCG works closely with many local organisations and the public meeting showed how joined up care works in practice – particularly helping people to live well as they get older. These included:
- Hampshire Fire service
- One Community
- Medicines management team (West Hampshire CCG)
- Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust
- University of the Third Age
- Dementia awareness
- Healthworks Eastleigh Borough Council
- Age Concern Hampshire
Board members and senior managers from West Hampshire CCG were on hand to answer questions.
