Dr Rory Honney, GP at St.Mary’s Surgery in Andover, and WHCCG’s James House, Deputy Director of Commissioning were interviewed live on Unity 101 during winter 2019. They discussed a variety of topics, including self-care, NHS 111 and when to access your local pharmacy:
- Self-care is about understanding how you can look after yourself, when a pharmacist can help, and when to get advice from your GP or another health professional. If you have a long-term condition, self-care is about understanding that condition and how to live with it.
- Pharmacists are qualified healthcare professionals who can help you with minor health concerns. They can offer clinical advice and over-the-counter medicines for a range of minor illnesses, such as coughs, colds, sore throats, tummy trouble and aches and pains.
- NHS 111 is a fast and easy way to get the right help, whatever the time, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
